Fundamentals of Drawing - - - -- Chris Armstrong, Lisa Towers, Israel Martinez - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - Learn basic drawing skills! Fundamentals are discussed including composition, perspective, and the effective use of line, edges, and value. Students are introduced to the live model

Drawing from the Imagination - - - Ink Illustration - ---- - -- - - - - - - - - - - Tim Gula - - - - - - - -- - - - - - -- -- - How to focus on mental images. Developing skill that can used in studio/film,animation and publishing work. Pen, Ink and brush will be the tools used.

Sculpting Courses --- Sculpting the figure - - -- - - - - - - Max Tuner - -- - - - - -- - - - - -- - - - You will sculpt from live model to archive realistic anatomy of the human form, or as a point of departure for stylized composition of abstract form

Animation Courses - --- Basic Cartooning - - - - - - - - - -- -- - Tom Shannon - - - - - - - - - - - - -- Learn basics of creating your own cartoon characters. Develop a sense of design & style, to use your characters in children's books, comics, etc. Open to all skill levels, great for those who like to doodle and have fund drawing.

 

Intro to Animation, Cartoon Drawing, Anime - -- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - Mark Maxey - - - - - - - - - -- - Character design, inbetweening, and layout will be introduced, as well as cell painting, and background design and painting. This is an all-encompassing class for the future filmmaker, or just the have fun in! Make your character come alive through our pencil-test animation system.

 

Landscape & Still Life - --- - - -- - - - - - Joe Cibere -- - -- - - - - - -- - - - - - - Acrylic: this "no fault" medium allows unlimited options, vibrant color, transparent, translucent or opaque. Includes some on-location painting.

Advanced Portrait Painting Techniques Ryan Wurnser -- - -- - -- - -- - - - - - - - Four different classical & alla prima approaches to painting the human figure from life. Five 12-hour poses and one 6 hour pose.

Beginning Oil Painting - Still life - - Lisa Towers - -- - -- - -- - - - - - -- - --- - - - - Learn oil painting basics. A concentration on composition, brushwork and perspective, working primarily from still life, with progressively more complicated subjects. More advanced painters will be challenged according to their skill level.

Head & Figure Painting - - Fundamentals - Oil - -- -- - -- - - - - -- - Lisa Towers - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - Starting the painting: lay-in, organization of edges and values, and the effect of light on form. Practical application of mono- chromatic painting techniques. Color palette used.

Figure Painting Color & Composition Israel Martinez - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - This class is intended for students who have an interest in painting the figure and who desire a better understanding of value, edges, color and design. The importance of learning how to see things as shapes and values will be stressed.

Figure Painting-Oil - - - - -- - - - - - - Ryan Wurnser -- - -- - - - - - - - - = - Working wet into wet, learn to take a figure painting from start to finish. Beginning with a light sketch and basic planning out, continuing with more refine modeling.

Figure in Watercolor - - - - -- - - -- - - Leatrice Joy Richardson - - - - - - - - Special emphasis on creative concept and the execution of the figure as a complete painting. Demonstration spotlighting form and pattern.

Fundamentals of Painting and Color Bobbie Moline-Kramer - - - - - - - - -- - - A basic class exploring the use of color as a tool to problem solving, from the traditional palette to the intuitive. Special emphasis on controlling the paint, using either gouache (opaque watercolor) or oil, while experimenting with various surfaces.

Karl Dempwolf - - - - - ---- - - -- - - - - Employing methods of plein air and impressionistic painting. The student will work primarily on location to explore the qualities of light and space through color and composition to develop a personal style. Frequent demonstrations and critiques.

Landscape, Portrait & Still life Paintings Water media: Watercolor/Gouache/Pastels/Acrylics Joe Cibere - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - Learn solid fundaments plus many advanced techniques. Introduction to pastel over watercolor for more creative possibilities to fix or change your painting.

Oil Painting:-A Valued Approach Johanna Spints - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Use a five-value system to understand how light works. Still life, portrait and figure. Glazing, palette knife, wet-into-wet, scumbing demos.

Painting the Head & Figure -- ---- -- - Tony Pro - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Focus on the basics of painting the figure using a limited palette made famous by Zorn. Heavy emphasis on principles of drawing as related to painting. Academics stressed, but of humor implemented. Special guest artist paint in class along with students. Figure drawing experience is suggested.

Plein Air Painting - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - Karl Dempwolf - - - - - - - - - - -- -- - - - Learn how to deal with the specific problems associated with painting outdoors,such as choosing subject matter, planning a painting with moving light source and finishing a painting in the allotted time. Classes stress composition, technique and color theory as they apply to sunlight and landscape.

Watercolor-Landscapes/Still Life/Portrait - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ea Joe Cibere - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - Paint landscapes through interpreting photo reference. Some still life set-ups. Explore basic, traditional and creative painting approaches with emphasis on preplanning ,composition,color selection,paint application and surface techniques. Frequent demos.

Watercolor-Fl orals and Landscapes - - Joe Cibere - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - -- - - Learn watercolor techniques to paint finished landscapes and fl orals. The course covers watercolor techniques for water, skies, trees, mountains, fog,flowers, rocks and more.

Landscape Painting with Oils/ Acrylics - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Students work from their own photos or studio set-up using a loose painterly style. Emphasis is on color, composition, design and use of the medium.
